
Jimmy’s started many moons ago back in 1991 after it’s prawn loving founder, Jimmy, decided to celebrate the prawn. With a basic setup, no funding and a dream, Jimmys opened his first restaurant in Johannesburg, South Africa. With a container freezer and a grill, Jimmy started serving his first customers out of an old mining house.
A simple dish of prawns on the grill beautifully flavoured and a side of bread. Within a few months, Jimmys was the talk of town. Folk would drive for hours to experience and celebrate the prawn.
Within a short year, Jimmys opened his first brick and mortar store and expanded his prawn offering with variations of prawn dishes heated tasted during his travels globally. Now Jimmys is a global franchise with stores throughout Southern Africa, Middle East and Europe with more coming soon.
