Gateway Theatre of Shopping has announced the launch of this year’s “Change in Action” campaign, with registrations now open for non-profit organisations to participate. Now in its third year, the popular initiative has become a flagship event on Durban’s non-profit calendar, giving local organisations the tools, visibility and partnerships needed to grow their impact.
The Change in Action campaign, presented in partnership with the Hollywood Foundation and Nation Builder, is designed to empower and spotlight non-profits working within the Gateway catchment area. Through the campaign, participating organisations receive training, skills development and a platform to connect with both the public and potential partners.
This year, 20 vetted and trained NPOs will be selected to showcase their work at the main event, the NPO Fair, taking place on Saturday 25 October at Gateway on the cinema level. The fair will run from 9am until 9pm, providing visitors with an opportunity to meet organisations, learn about their work and explore different ways to support them.
By hosting Change in Action, Gateway continues its commitment to providing a platform for NPOs to raise awareness about their work and strengthen their sustainability. With the Hollywood Foundation focusing on marketing and social media empowerment, and Nation Builder providing training and mentorship, the initiative equips participating NPOs with skills and exposure that extend beyond the campaign itself.
For the business community, the project will include a networking brunch, where corporate leaders and funders can connect directly with exhibiting organisations to explore collaboration and financial support.
Registrations are now open for NPOs wishing to participate in the 2025 Change in Action campaign. Interested organisations can apply through the Hollywood Foundation website, where criteria for entry are outlined: https://hollywoodfoundation.co.za/. From the pool of applicants, 20 organisations will be selected to undergo capacity-building workshops before taking part in the exhibition at Gateway.
Gateway is excited to renew their partnership with Nation Builder and the Hollywood Foundation for the third consecutive year. Each year, this campaign gives local NPOs the tools and visibility they need to thrive, while reinforcing our own commitment to sustainability and meaningful social impact. Together, we’re empowering communities, nurturing long-term resilience and proving that sustained collaboration can drive real, positive change that lasts.
The NPO Fair will be hosted on Saturday, 25 October 2025, on the cinema level at Gateway. The event will include a morning business networking brunch followed by a full-day public exhibition featuring 20 high-impact NPOs.
