As the province’s leading fashion destination, Gateway Theatre of Shopping is going catwalk crazy in the lead-up to the continent’s greatest horse-racing event. After the ups and downs of the past three years, the mall is thrilled to be able to go all-out for fashion once again.
As the official mall partner of the HDJ, Gateway has a rich legacy of supporting the event, sponsoring the Young Designer Awards (YDA) and hosting what has always been the hottest fashion ticket in town – the HDJ Preview Fashion Show. The HDJ Preview Fashion Show will be back this year and with the “Out of this World” theme, it’s sure to be a showstopper. The preview show will be hosted on June 23 at the mall when HDJ fashion will be running at fever-pitch.
The YDA Semi-Finalists Fashion Show will be held in The Atrium at the mall on June 14 always brings an air of expectation and anticipation. This is mostly attributed to being a competition, but also usually the designers’ first showing at a full production fashion show. Gateways thrilled to be making Durban’s young talents’ dreams come true with the exposure and prizes we sponsor.
This year’s theme is an invitation to let “your imagination run wild” and that’s quite easy at Gateway. From cleverly styling a few choice pieces, or going for a high-end off-the-peg look, the mall has a variety of men’s and women’s fashion outlets from which to choose. The HDJ creates a once-a-year platform for fashion to strut its stuff and visitors can look forward to Gateway’s premium position on the catwalk.
